About the THRIVE Program
Childhood adversity is widespread and many survivors carry the burden with them for decades—from mental health challenges such as anxiety or depression, to physical health issues such as cancer, heart disease or asthma.
Yet, most childhood adversity survivors fail to make a connection between their mental health today and their childhood experiences and therefore also don’t actively address any psychological vulnerabilities. The THRIVE program aims to change that!
Women ACE survivors are invited to join 5 interactive sessions that introduce them to the research on childhood adversity as well as evidence-based exercises and strategies that help strengthen their psychological resilience, give them greater sense of agency over their mental well-being, and help them thrive!
Did you experience adversity in your childhood that is still impacting you today? Then join one of our upcoming THRIVE workshops!

THRIVE Program FAQs
If you have experienced one or more ACEs (see "Find Your ACE Score") and have not actively addressed your childhood experiences and/or potential psychological vulnerabilities then this workshop is likely right for you! The program aims to introduce ACE survivors to the long-term mental health consequences of childhood adversity as well as tools and strategies that help them thrive!
Definitely not! Many childhood adversity survivors don't realize for many years or even decades the significant impact their experiences have had on their mental and overall wellbeing. Furthermore, labeling one's experiences as "adverse" can be challenging or feel odd.
Therefore, if you believe that you struggle psychologically due to experiences you had in your childhood, then this program is definitely a great fit for you!
Our facilitators are a select group of individuals from across the United States who have a personal or professional connection to Adverse Childhood Experiences. All facilitators follow the same THRIVE handbook, which includes research findings and evidence-based exercises and strategies to address relevant mental health challenges.
Given that workshops are offered by different facilitators, we do not offer specific discounts across workshops. That being said, we always try to do what we can to reduce cost as a barrier for participation. Therefore, please connect with your workshop facilitator or contact us at thethriveprogramteam@gmail.com if you are in need of financial assistance.
The five, 90-minute long THRIVE sessions are focused on two things: (1) increasing awareness of the long-term impact of childhood adversity and associated research, and (2) equipping you with strategies and tactics that you can apply in your everyday life to strengthen your resilience and increase your sense of agency over your mental well-being. Specifically, facilitators will engage participants in activities that address, for example, healthy (vs. maladaptive) coping mechanisms, emotion dysregulation, and unhelpful thought patterns—all of which have been linked mental health issues following Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
The THRIVE workshop is a 5-session program (each session being 90 minutes long) that is either held over the course of a few days or five weeks. The sessions generally don't require any prep work on your part but if you wish to get the most of the program then we recommend that you spend some time outside of the sessions reflecting on what you've discussed as a group and applying what you've learned in your day-to-day life.
Unfortunately, no. This program aims to educate individuals on the long-term mental health implications of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and equip them with strategies and tactics that help them address unhealthy coping mechanisms, emotion dysregulation, unhelpful thought patterns, and other that are commonly associated with ACEs.
